The best way to do the Ella Rock hike is to get up early in the morning, have a good breakfast and then start the hike. Later in the day the sun will be shining much harder, this will make the hike much more difficult.

A stunning railroad bridge with nine arches in the middle of a mountainous beautiful surrounding. Demodara nine arch bridge is a must visit if you want to take some really nice travel pictures on your trip in Sri Lanka. The bridge was built in the British colonial times and only contains bricks, concrete, and mortar. Not a single piece of metal was used to build the bridge. The easy version of Adams peak in Sri Lanka. It’s a good alternative for Ella Rock or a good second-place hike in Ella Sri Lanka. The hike is less heavy than Ella rock and features more stairs on your way to the top. In return, the view on the top of Little Adams peak is as rewarding as the view of Ella Rock.

The Famous train ride from/to Ella Sri Lanka
Online reviews say that the train ride from Ella to Haputale is one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world. Halputale is a small village close to Ella in the mountains of Sri Lanka.
A slow, very old train rolls through a landscape with breathtaking mountains with many tea plantations. It’s recommended to book a train ticket a few days in advance.
Basically, a giant rock with 7 giant stone carved statues of Buddha in a beautiful natural setting on the island of Sri Lanka. The stone sculptures date from the 10th century and actually, not many tourist visit the place. So you probably will have the whole area for yourself in peace when you consider visiting Buduruwagala Temple.
Dhowa Ancient Rock Temple
A lovely historical place to visit when you are in Ella Sri Lanka and you want to do something cultural. The Dowa Temple dates back 2000 years and is situated close the town of Ella on the way to the waterfall. This rock temple is famous for its large unfinished Buddha image which is carved into a rock face. You will need about 30 minutes to explore this ancient rock temple.

Quite close to Ella Sri Lanka, a big waterfall decorates a breathtaking natural scenery. Ravanna Ella Falls is a great place to cool off with a nice fresh swim.
