On my three-week visit to India, I had spent about 2 days in Mumbai before I took a night train straight to Anjuna in Goa. In the first place, I had planned to only visit Goa for a few days. But I eventually ended up spending three weeks there. It happened to me because I met amazing people there and the vibe was too good to leave. And so was the food. The many restaurants in Anjuna made me stay for longer because I absolutely love good food. And not only the restaurants, especially the hostels made me stay longer. The hostels I stayed in contributed a lot of good memories of Goa. You will love Anjuna if you like the beach, the sun, good food, a relaxed vibe and a decent party now and then. Here’s a list of my top three favorite hostels in Anjuna, Goa.
The closest hostel to the beach in Anjuna, the flea market, and the beach parties. The dorms are located in cozy beach huts. There are also private double rooms available. Outside in the chill out area, there is plenty of room to sit down, have a drink and to meet other travelers. You’ll also find a little kitchen here where you can prepare your own food. There are also hammocks in the garden. The owner, Sandeep, is a good man.
This backpacker hostel is themed to look like a prison and is probably the best party hostel in Goa. The dorms, as you can imagine, are basic but Prison Hostel attracts a lively party crowd and even has a bar made out of an old bus in the front yard. They also put on a shuttle bus to take people to parties – this is the place to stay if you came to Goa to party.
A bright and colorful hostel with friendly, helpful staff situated near the popular German Bakery in Anjuna and close to South Anjuna Beach where popular party places – Shiva Valley and Curlies. Roadhouse also has a super useful helpline for the guests to call and ask any questions about traveling in Goa and the rest of India.
My all-time favorite hostel in Anjuna, Goa
I had the best time at Wonderland hostel. And for several reasons. I met amazing people there and the rooms were nice. But especially the location is great because it’s a 3-minute walk from the Anjuna beach. The central “hangout” space in Wonderland is what makes this hostel so special. In this space, all the travelers talk and hang out together. I stayed there for a couple of nights, then I left for another place, but I came back to the Wonderland hostel 2 days after that. Because I really had a good time there.
